Over the past months, Venterra’s DEI Strategy and Action Team (DEISAT) has been hard at work developing a framework for our Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion strategy. In partnership with the Kaleidoscope Group, the team has identified a number of organizational goals and a plan of action for achieving them. We’re excited to have recently announced the release of a big part of the initiative: our DEI-Hub Channel on Microsoft Teams!
The launch represents the first major milestone in a detailed three-year plan spanning across the entire portfolio. A centralized location for candid conversations around the topic of DEI, the channel provides all Venterra team members with an easy way to have their voice heard and help shape the way we implement changes for a more inclusive, diverse, equitable, and stronger Venterra.
To kick the conversations off, Venterra team members had a chance to win big, by joining and contributing to the chat! DEISAT created a Diversity Calendar for the channel to help us celebrate and learn more about the various holidays team members across the Venterra portfolio enjoy. Given the immense impact that he and his legacy have made to civil rights and society as a whole, we thought Martin Luther King Jr. Day was a great opportunity to encourage Venterra colleagues to join the channel and share their thoughts about how MLK impacted or inspired them. Team members were also encouraged to chime in about another day on the calendar to let us know what it means to them, share a family tradition, or help teach us more about the holiday itself.
Team members who joined the group and shared feedback on the channel automatically had their name added to a raffle to win one of the three gift cards or prizes below!
For February, the channel has been the perfect platform for celebrating the Chinese New Year and Black History Month. Each week we’re featuring key figures and events in Black History, giving our team members a chance to discuss, learn about, and celebrate Black achievements and the impact they’ve made on the world.
We’ll be regularly adding more news & updates to the channel and are looking forward to our team members taking part in an open dialogue around this critical part of our company culture!
