Each year Venterra team members celebrate the start of a new year and the successes of the previous year by getting together, receiving awards and prizes, hearing from Venterra leaders, and cutting loose and having a blast! Our 2021 Kickoff Party was a little different from previous kickoff events where our employees have attended one of two parties for a day under the same roof with their team members. This year, in response to the COVID pandemic, we shifted gears and took the party virtual for a week-long celebration!
While the venue might have been different, the energy certainly wasn’t, and, shifting to a virtual platform allowed teams to expand their reach and engage with a whole new group of employees. “Our team members are constantly finding new ways to innovate and evolve,” said Venterra Chairman, Andrew Stewart. “We’ve always enjoyed past Kickoff events as a group, so we were thrilled to see new connections form virtually without sacrificing any of the fun.”
Teams got in on the festivities from their respective communities watching videos, celebrating virtually with folks across our portfolio, and partying with their own co-workers. With a new theme each day of the celebration, we kicked off 2021 in lots of fresh, new ways! Goodies, including Venterra swag, treats, tees, and hoodies, were shipped to each community in advance of and during the event. Awards (including an all-new “Innovation” category) were announced by video throughout the week, so trophies were sent out in advance with instructions to keep winners secret until they were announced, leading to some touching surprise moments caught on camera. “In 2020 we exhibited strength against a backdrop of adversity, and we’ve come through much stronger as a result,” said Venterra CEO, John Foresi. “Many thanks go out to Venterra employees, especially our onsite team members, who stepped up to serve our residents during the COVID crisis. We’re looking forward to moving Venterra’s vision and potential closer to reality in 2021.”
Kickoff parties are just one example of how we follow through with our Leader Promise of “making the time to have fun and celebrate success,“ and they’re the perfect opportunity to announce and present trophies to our regional onsite role winners. Employees selected for a regional award are automatically nominated for portfolio-wide “Of the Year” selections.
