There’s no doubt about it. 2016 was definitely an eventful year. With the internet abuzz with the ups and downs that it had in store, we’ve been taking a look back at 2016 and a few of Venterra’s shining moments. Turns out, 2016 had some pretty great highlights for us a company.
We were proud to be recognized with several honors in 2016. We were named an Achievers 50 Most Engaged Workplace. We were selected as a Best Medium Workplace by the Great Place to Work® Institute in partnership with FORTUNE. And we anxiously waited to find out if we would make Glassdoor’s Best Places to Work list for a second year in a row, and were thrilled to announce it to the world when it happened.
In addition to Venterra’s national accomplishments, we were excited to have our regions, teams, and employees recognized this year, too!
On the regional level, we were again named a Houston Chronicle Top Workplace and an Atlanta Journal-Constitution Workplace Achiever. When it came to our communities, the team at Falcon Square Apartments made us proud with multiple Golden Key Awards, Village Walk took home a FCAA Circle of Excellence Award, and we had 95% of our communities Top Rated by ApartmentRatings.com! On the employee front, Atlanta Apartment Association STAR awards were given to Tosh Milligan and Lauren Moseley and we had employees crowned maintenance mania champs by AAGO and the Houston Apartment Association.
On top of all this, we made time to acquire a number of communities. These included Axial Buckhead, Coles Crossing, ilume, ilume Park, The Palazzo, and The Cape at Grand Harbor. We made taking an Orlando vacation a breeze, invited pups into our offices, saw a lot of Venterra rock stars promoted, and, of course, found a TON of great ways to fill the year up with fun. To name just a few, the good times included our Friday Fun Days, a first ever Venterra talent contest, regional Family Fun Days, and (naturally) the mannequin challenge!
In addition to surprising me with just how much managed to get packed into it, taking a moment to look back on 2016 has once again cemented my feelings about Venterra Realty. I’m honored and fortunate to be able to work with a truly awesome group of people at an organization that has a company culture I can honestly say is unlike any other.
I can’t wait to see what 2017 has in store for us as a company and for all of the dedicated individuals on our teams. If 2016 is an indication, I’ve got no doubt that we’ll all be enjoying a very happy new year!
