The Power of “WOW!”

Teresa Wow -GDTwo years ago Community Manager, Teresa Heeney and her team at Signature Ridge Apartments had the honor of putting our WoW Program into use for a family at the community in a big way. They took it upon themselves to hold a party for 10 year old resident, Kennedy, who had been diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy.

Doctors had predicted that she had a life expectancy of two years, so the milestone was a big day for Kennedy and her family. With this in mind the team put their heads together to come up with a great surprise: they threw her a Princess Birthday Party and it was a HUGE success!

Two years later, as Kennedy’s 12th birthday arrived, Teresa, who is no longer managing the community, was honored to receive an invitation to Kennedy’s latest birthday celebration by email. Kennedy’s mother was so touched by Teresa and the staff at Signature Ridge for their efforts to make Kennedy’s 10th birthday unforgettable, that she reached back out to Teresa to invite her to celebrate yet another year in the life of this amazing young lady! How great is that?

We’re honored to have the opportunity to see first hand the impact that our WoW Program has on our residents even years after the initial thought to jump into action, and we can’t wait to see the next magic moment WoW has in store!

Happy Birthday Kennedy!

  1. I remember this day like it was yesterday. Although I was not working at Signature Ridge, I was invited to help out and I am so glad I did. It made such a huge impact on their lives and I know it did on mine as well.
