Better Living – August Success Stories!

Our Better Living Program is rocking and rolling! August was a great month for personal growth for many of our team members. Here are two of our employees who set a goal for themselves and took the steps to make it happen!

DeAudraPlankDeAudra Nash, Assistant Property Manager at Carrington at Park Lake, set out to step up her fitness level through a tough month long regimen: The 30 Day Plank Challenge! The plan includes increasing time spent planking from 20 seconds to 5 minutes over the course of a month. Anyone familiar with planking will tell you that this is much easier said than done, but it didn’t keep DeAudra from success!

Here’s her take on accomplishing this goal:

“I have really proved something to myself by completing this plank challenge. My goal started with drinking more water and I ended up here! WOW!”

Great job balancing nutrition and fitness for a healthier you, DeAudra! We’re proud of you!

DexterRunDexter Rendon, Property Manager at Village Walk, committed to completing a 5k race this summer, and he was able to make it happen in a big way! Competing in the Armageddon Ambush, Dexter battled through, walls, ice water, mud, barbed wire, and more! And just in case there was any doubt about it, he was also kind enough to provide photographic evidence!

Here’s what Dexter had to say about the experience:

“What a crazy ride it was… I can honestly say I did not think I would be able to complete the race upon arrival, but fortunately it was less about competing against others and more about competing with yourself and pushing yourself to try things you didn’t think you were capable of. Through it all teammates and strangers cheered each other on with support. I liked it so much, I experienced it twice!”

Having support from others to push yourself is what our Better Living Program is all about, too! Way to go, Dexter!

We’re looking forward to continuing to see all the great goals our team members set for themselves, having an opportunity to be a supportive voice in getting closer to them happening, and celebrating when they are finally reached! Keep them coming Venterra!
