Our first virtual Venterra Leadership Conference continued with fresh excitement last week! Our most recent session, sponsored by HD Supply, featured this year’s keynote speaker, Michael Bungay Stanier, author of six books, including The Coaching Habit and The Advice Trap, which have sold more than a million copies!
Managers and leaders often find themselves stuck in three vicious circles. They’re frustrated by teams that have become overly dependent on them. They’re overwhelmed by the amount of work they have. And they’re disconnected from their own Great Work — the work that has impact, the work that has meaning.
With a little bit of help from Venterra COO, Richard Roos, Michael Bungay Stanier (or MBS, as he goes by) shared practical ways to foster autonomous, accountable teams, and our leaders learned an effective framework for more productive and engaging conversations, helping them become more coach-like leaders.
Virtual VLC attendees were once again treated to a lunch delivery via Uber Eats, courtesy of sponsor, Cotton Holdings, and, following the event, we surprised attendees with a gift card to purchase one of Michael Bungay Stanier’s books or his recommended read, A Short History of Nearly Everything, by Bill Bryson, courtesy of sponsor, Lument!
We also announced that we’re giving away another $1,000 in our Q3 VLC drawing! By just interacting on the virtual platform, our conference attendees earned points towards a raffle for one of ten $100 e-gift cards!
Stay tuned for more Venterra Leadership Conference 2021 updates to come!
